Argentine Tango meets Americana Euro Style
Santiago Alvarez & Emiliano Faryna
Start: 8:30pm
|
Though Tango has traditionally been played on bandoneon, a generation of Argentine chromatic harmonica players have succeeded in adapting this unique musical style for chromonica. Today, Santiago Alvarez is one of its leading exponents. Together with master guitarist Emiliano Faryna he has created a fascinating repertoire which encompasses both classical tango à la Piazzolla as well as original arrangements of Argentine folk music, performed with both virtuosity and emotional intensity. A great duo with a refreshingly original approach! |

Festival director Steve Baker’s performance in 2023 will showcase new material from his most recent recording “Too Much Is Never Enough”, as well as songs from his two previous solo albums.
