This workshop offers a systematic approach to the most important playing technique topics on the diatonic harmonica.
Step by step, Marko Jovanović accompanies the workshop participants in learning, improving and consolidating the different playing techniques needed to master the instrument. Complex learning units are visualised and didactically prepared in a way that ensures everyone benefits from the workshop according to their playing abilities. The first step is to provide an overview of all important playing techniques, including how to shape the sound, controlled intonation, expressive bendings and microbendings, as well as the tongue-blocking technique.
Participants learn to refine the techniques and discover ways of using them in their music. In the next step, specific exercises help students gain fluency and internalize these techniques. Concrete song examples help them to not only integrate what has been learned in their playing, but also to understand it musically. The significance of a technique is always dependent on putting it into a musical context.
At the end of the workshop the aim is for each participant to have a clear individual practice plan, which will ensure sustainable musical and playing development.
